Narowal: Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar has revealed that the government plans to complete the construction of the Kartarpur Corridor by September 30, according to a news source. With this deadline, the Prime Minister’s (PM) promise to the Sikh community regarding the speedy construction of the corridor would be fulfilled before Baba Guru Nanak’s 550th birth anniversary.
Sarwar made this announcement while visiting the project site at Shakargarh.
He added that the PM had made a commitment concerning this project’s realization to the Sikh community in November last year – with it now being close to completion. He remarked that Sikh pilgrims would be able to attend and commemorate the 550th birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak in a convenient way following the completion of the project.
In addition, Sarwar revealed that the visa restrictions for Sikh pilgrims would be eased. The Bedi family, the direct descendants of the guru, would also be invited to partake in the celebrations.
The Kartarpur Corridor was initiated on the demand of the Sikh community from all over the world, and is primed to give them convenient access to one of the most sacred sites in Sikhism.
