Lahore: The Punjab government has notified the implementation of 491 micro-smart lockdowns in the province a day after the federal government recorded an alarming increase in the daily number of coronavirus cases, a news source reported on October 29.

The total number of cases in Pakistan currently stand at 330,905, while the number of deaths are seen to increase to 6,773. The provincial government has imposed 435 smart lockdowns in Lahore, while 29 micro smart lockdowns are currently in place in Gujrat, three in Hafizabad, two in Jhang, eight in Jhelum, three in Kasur, six in Khanewal, and five in Khushab. There are a total of 671 infected people in these areas.

The government has also revised the timings for business and commercial activities in Lahore, Multan and Rawalpindi to 10 pm. Medical stores, pharmacies, tandoors, printing press, call centres and restaurant takeaways have been exempted from these restrictions.
The public parks, meanwhile, will be closed by 6 pm.
