Lahore: The Punjab government has released PKR 3 billion for two mega projects in the city under the Lahore infrastructure development initiative, news sources reported on December 7.

The provincial government has released PKR 3 billion for the Samabnabad Underpass Project and Shahdra Multi-Level Grade Separation Project. The funds have been transferred to the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) to start the mega projects. As per the details, the government has initially released PKR 500 million to start civil structure work on the Samanabad underpass project. The remaining funds have been released for the Shahdra restructuring project.

It is important to note that LDA has proposed the Samanadbad underpass project to ease traffic flow on Multan Road. The project includes the construction of a 500 metre-long two-way underpass that will be 5.1 meters high and 8 meters wide and is expected to be completed in 13 months with a proposed budget of PKR 1.758 billion.
