Lahore: Provincial Minister Abdul Aleem Khan on Monday – while talking to a delegation of the Lahore Restaurants Association – hinted at the formation of a new advisory board for reopening restaurants in the province, a news source reported. He said that the provincial government would consider reopening the outlets on request.

The minister highlighted that as per the basic right of the citizens having access to quality food, the authorities concerned would not tolerate poor hygienic conditions at any restaurant, its kitchens and premises.
Furthermore, upon the formation of the advisory board, Khan said that the provincial government might also form a body including representatives from the Punjab Food Authority (PFA) and various restaurants to resolve issues via mutual understanding.

The Lahore Restaurants Association’s representatives requested that the like other businesses, they should also be allowed to resume operations – subject to compliance with all the issued SOPs to contain the spread of the COVID-19 infection.
