According to the approved plan, the government would provide funding for restoring all water channels, canals, water storage facilities, and associated roadways. Roads will be rehabilitated on a priority basis to connect farmlands to marketplaces and maintain goods transportation to consumer markets. Moreover, the meeting agreed to conduct a crop damage assessment to estimate the amounts needed for crop loss compensation.
Elahi stated at the same meeting that the government is working on a plan to compensate families who lost their homes in the recent floods. The government will assess the damage and reimburse those affected through the Bank of Punjab (BoP) and partner banks for relief package distribution. Similarly, more material assistance in food, medication, and crucial aid supplies would be prioritised for the affected.
