Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has announced that state-of-the-art Special Economic Zones (SEZs) will be set up throughout the province along with more facilities for industrialists, according to news published on August 12.

CM Elahi met with a delegation headed by the Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) President Irfan Iqbal Sheikh. During the meeting, the issues related to the traders’ community and industrialists were discussed. The CM stated that the timing restriction has been lifted from the businesses across the province and made it easy for traders to do business. It was mentioned that the government has decided to provide more facilities for industrialists and traders in Punjab. The government also plans to promote an agro-based economy in the province as it will strengthen the economy.

Further, he revealed that a focal person from the CM office will be appointed to resolve the problems of industrialists and traders. CM Elahi disclosed that old industrial estates will be developed, which will boost industrial progress by creating new employment opportunities and strengthening the economy.
