Lahore: The Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department (P&SHD) of Punjab has extended the smart lockdown in the province till July 15 – with immediate effect – to prevent further COVID-19 spread, according to a news source published today (July 1).

Under the Punjab Infectious Diseases (Prevention and Control) Ordinance 2020, the secretary P&SHD has extended the applicability of its earlier notice ‘until modified otherwise’. As per this lockdown in Punjab, all educational and training institutes, hotels/restaurants (with the exemption of delivery and take out services), theme parks, play area, arcades, parlours/salons, theatres and cinema are to remain closed.

The ban on sports tournament/matches both indoor and outdoor is still intact, except for the non-contact professional sports event that does not allow spectators. The contact sports clubs and facilities will also remain shut down during this smart lockdown.
All factories, businesses, facilities, retail shops, markets and plazas will be allowed to operate under the government-sanctioned standard operating procedures (SOPs) from 9 am to 7 pm (Monday to Friday).
