Lahore: The government of Punjab has decided to establish a computerised land bank under the Board of Revenue revealed the Minister for Revenue Malik Muhammad Anwar on Wednesday – a news source reported. He was talking to media at his office.

The computerised land bank will contain the data of the state land from 36 districts of the province. The data for the land bank will be provided by the deputy commissioners of these districts. The minister stated that the land bank will help make revenue affairs more transparent.
The minister also stated that currently action is being taken against land grabbers around the province and added that the board of revenue has adopted a zero-tolerance policy against these grabbers.

The government has also been taking concerted action against land-grabbers and illegal housing schemes in Punjab over the past few days with more than 850 criminal cases registered against owners of various housing schemes during this time.
