Lahore: The Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) is going to construct the Punjab Disaster Management Complex in the city at a cost of PKR 300 million — a news source reported earlier today (August 5).

According to the details available, Punjab Disaster Management Authority Director General Raja Khurram Shahzad Umar has already written a letter to the city deputy commissioner, asking for the provision of 16 kanals of land for the development of the complex.
The project is expected to be completed in a period of three years, and funds worth PKR 119 million have been earmarked for the venture during the ongoing fiscal year. The complex is expected to have an HR Office, provincial emergency operation centre, GIS support system, research and development wing, and training halls.

In addition to the complex in Lahore, the PDMA will also establish warehouses and district emergency operation centres around the province. These are expected to cost an additional PKR 3.36 billion to develop.
