Lahore: Provincial Chief Minister (CM) Sardar Usman Buzdar stated that the Punjab government will construct 1,500-kilometres (km) rural roads by December 2019, according to a news source. The CM added that the first phase of the project would cost PKR 15 billion.

The National Assembly (NA) members held a consultative meeting with the CM to discuss the public welfare and development projects in the province. The CM told the NA members that the provincial government was keeping a close check on the issues faced by each village and city. He added that the provincial government was also working to resolve these issues efficiently and promptly.
CM Buzdar stated that they believe in the uniform development of all areas in the province. He revealed that the Punjab government would complete two phases of the Naya Pakistan Manzilain Asaan Project in a bid to build and repair 1,500 km of roads by December this year. He added that a new phase of the project would begin in January 2020, which will also boost economic activities in the province.

The CM also stated that the provincial government would acknowledge the recommendations for the development projects presented by the lawmakers.
