Lahore: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz has initiated a thorough examination of illegal housing schemes in Lahore, proposing a ban on the sale of plot files associated with these developments. The news was published in an article on October 16.

As per details, during a special meeting convened to address this pressing issue, the CM directed the Director General of the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) to compile a comprehensive report within the next 15 days.
In addition to tackling illegal housing practices, the Chief Minister called upon development institutions to devise a detailed plan for repairing the numerous potholes plaguing Lahore’s roadways. The “LDA Development and CM Initiative” was also scrutinized in this meeting, highlighting the government’s commitment to improving urban infrastructure.
Among those present at the meeting were Senator Pervez Rashid, Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Provincial Minister for Information and Culture Azma Zahid Bokhari, Vice Chairman of the LDA Mian Marghub Ahmed, MPA Sania Ashiq, Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary to the CM, Secretary of Housing, DG LDA, and other relevant officials.

The Chief Minister also discussed the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit Conference, describing it as a historic step for Pakistan. She emphasised the importance of this meeting in promoting regional development and prosperity.
