Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has directed the officials concerned to share a plan detailing the SOPs for resuming intercity and intra-city public transport services with minimal viral-spread risk, according to a news source. After receiving briefings on these SOPs, the provincial government will notify the centre on these measures for formally opening the transport sector.

According to representatives of the Transporters Association, proper arrangements will be implemented to ensure public safety from the viral infection. For this purpose, sanitizer walkthrough gates will be installed at all bus terminals; while passenger without masks will not be allowed to enter the vehicles.
In addition to these measures, bus drivers and conductors will also be required to wear protective masks and gloves; with each passenger being checked for temperature spikes via thermal scanners before boarding.

The association has further guaranteed that no passenger exhibiting coronavirus symptoms would be allowed to travel. Additionally, each bus will be treated with chlorinated water after every trip.
