Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Sardar Usman Buzdar, during the 20th meeting of the Punjab Emergency Council held on Wednesday, sanctioned the phased-wise launch of a motorbike ambulance service for all districts of the province, according to news sources. Further, he provided his approval to the procurement of a brand new fleet of ambulances.
The CM expressed great concern over the shortage of the ambulances at healthcare centres and directed for immediate measures to be taken in this regard. The meeting also approved the provision of special stipends to rescuers during their emergency service academy training.

Further, Buzdar directed for the Rescue 1122 service to be launched at tehsil level. The matter of offering financial aid was also reviewed and subjected to the consent of finance and regulations departments. A special committee under law minister will submit its recommendations in this regard.

The CM spoke to the assembly and stressed on the implementation of safety regulations in the construction of the high-rise buildings and called for a foolproof strategy plan for patients’ relocation.
