Lahore: The Punjab Cabinet on Tuesday provided its approval to the allocation of state land for the development of the Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP) in the province, according to news sources.
The authority sanctioned this initiative during its 25th meeting; held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister (CM) Sardar Usman Buzdar. Provincial ministers, the chief secretary, departmental secretaries, advisors, and special assistants were all present on the occasion.

The Punjab Cabinet meeting also provided its approval to the reconstitution of the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB). In addition, the cabinet accorded its approval to the regulation of online transport companies and private vehicles operating in Punjab.
To this effect, the provincial government recently amended the Punjab Motor Vehicles Ordinance 1965 to regulate mobile app based ride-hailing companies and private vehicles.

Other approvals granted by this meeting pertained to:
- Ex-post-facto summary for service level agreement to fund operational expenses of GIS-based survey and Computerization of Urban Non-Moveable Property Tax Project for past three fiscal years.
- Signing of memorandum-of-understanding between Xuhou City and Lahore.
- Signing of letter of intent declaring Rawalpindi and Wuhan, Faisalabad and Qingdao, Bahawalpur and Nanjing, Taxila and Datong and Multan and Xian as sister cities.
- Amendment to Quaid-e-Azam Library Lahore (Appointment and Conditions of Service) Regulations, 1984.
