Lahore: The Punjab cabinet on Thursday provided its approval to an amendment proposed to the Lahore Ring Road Authority Act 2011, effectively extending LRRA’s jurisdiction to include other parts of the province, a news source reported.

Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Usman Buzdar presided over the session. Provincial ministers, advisors, special assistants, chief secretary, and secretaries of concerned departments were all present on the occasion.
In addition to approving the revision to the said act, the cabinet provided its approval to the appointment of the brass, including chairman Board of Directors, of the Central Business District Development Authority.
Moreover, installation of four new cement plants in Mianwali, Dera Ghazi (DG) Khan and Khushab was approved in the meeting. The attendees were of the view that the construction of cement plants would create thousands of jobs for the local population.

The participants approved waiver of Abiana (water rate), agriculture tax and other arrears for cultivators hit by drought in tehsil Noorpur Thal of Khushab district in addition to approving a financial aid of PKR 440 million for monsoon flood affectees.
