Lahore: The Punjab cabinet has approved the amendments to the Punjab E-Stamp Rules, 2016 in a bid to facilitate people with their online payments – a news source reported.
The meeting also decided to link the amendments to the Punjab Police (Ministerial Posts) Rules, 2017 with the permission of the law department. The provincial Law Minister Raja Basharat will submit a report on the matter in the next session.

The meeting also approved an amendment to the police rules regarding the recruitment of inspector legal (special cadre) in BS-16 in Punjab police. Additionally, the government approved the mechanism for the appointment of a vice-chancellor for the University of Agriculture, Multan as well.

The cabinet also decided to approve amendments to the Code of Criminal Procedure. The amendments will give the government the authority to grant magisterial powers to certain officials.
Speaking to the meeting, the Chief Minister said that no one would be allowed to disrupt the normal routine of life, with strict action facing those that disrupted law and order.
