Lahore: The Punjab government has set aside PKR 1.45 billion for tourism, mining, and minerals, representing a 231% increase in the tourist budget, according to news sources.

According to the budget paper, 17 new initiatives and 14 continuing schemes have been proposed. Here are the specifics of the budget allocation.
- PKR 750 million is set aside for North Punjab
- PKR 350 is reserved for Central and South Punjab
- PKR 1.081.425 billion is allocated for the ongoing schemes and is expected to be complete by 2023.
- PKR 1.064 billion will be used for new schemes and the projects are expected to be finished by 2023.
Furthermore, the Punjab government would prioritise both site restoration and new initiatives. Cleanliness campaigns are also a part of the plans. Many sites and racks will be cleaned as a result of this.
Glamping pods will also be installed in Patriata to make better use of available space. It will lead to enhancing the area’s capacity to accommodate tourists. According to reports, a double-decker bus service for tourists in southern Punjab is in the pipeline.
Aside from that, the government intends to construct adventure parks. The Soon Valley-District Khushab Adventure Park and Parkway Project has been proposed. In addition, the government intends to build a water park in Jhang.

It was also stated that foreign nationals may now obtain e-visas and that visa regulations have been eased in order to boost tourism.
