Lahore: The Punjab government is expected to announce its budget for the upcoming (fiscal year) FY2019-20 in the second week of June, a news source reported.

As per sources, the preparations to this effect have entered their final stage. Also, the authorities concerned have proposed a 10% increment in the salaries of government employees.
According to the report, the government would present a developmental budget with an outlay of PKR 278 billion in its announcement. Moreover, 40% of the total budgeted amount will reportedly be allocated for the education, health, and water sectors.

Previously, the provincial government had planned to present its budget in the third week of May. The departments concerned were formally asked to finalise their development schemes by March.
