Lahore: The Government of Punjab on Monday earmarked PKR 400 million for the tourism sector’s new and existing projects under the provincial budget for Fiscal Year (FY) 2020-21, according to news sources.

Reportedly, this year’s allocation is almost four times lower than that allocated for the same last year (PKR 1.5 billion). During the FY 2019-20 following schemes were completed:
- Development of Resort Charehan with a cost of PKR 87.71 million
- Renovation, upgradation of Patriata with a cost of PKR 144.51 million
- Construction of Khajot Service Area with a cost of PKR 30.41 million

- Feasibility for the resort at Attock (Khurd) with a cost of PKR 9.97 million
- Development in Soon Valley with a cost of PKR 198.46 million
- Establishment of a resort at Nankana Sahib with PKR 145.37 million
Additionally, PKR 340 million has been allocated for some 22 existing schemes and PKR 60 million has been allocated for the new schemes to be initiated in this fiscal year’s tourism sector budget.
