Gujrat: The Punjab government has approved a PKR 10 billion uplift package for Gujrat and the schemes under this package have been made part of the Annual Development Programme (ADP) 2021-22 and will subsequently be launched within the year, according to news sources.

As per the sources, the said uplift package is focused on resolving the issues being faced by Gujrat city which includes; faulty sewerage/drainage systems, poor road infrastructure and industrial estate area’s development.

Moreover, the official sources reported that PKR 400 million have been allocated in the next year’s ADP for the construction work on roads, streets and small drains in the city. Moreover, it was highlighted that the chief minister will formally announce the uplift package in his official visit to the city expected in the next couple of weeks. During the said visit, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar is expected to officiate several other schemes.
