Lahore: The Punjab government on Sunday provided its approval to the development of the Rawalpindi Ring Road project under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode, a news source reported. During the 4th meeting of the PPP Policy & Monitoring Board, Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Usman Buzdar sanctioned the project’s development at a cost of PKR 50 billion.

In addition to approving the Rawalpindi Ring Road project development, the meeting also green-light the appointment of a transaction advisor for 10 other projects. Addressing the meeting, the CM said that all promises made to the residents of Rawalpindi would see fulfilment. He expressed his hope that the completion of the Ring Road project would resolve the city’s traffic problems as well as boost economic activity.
CM Buzdar directed the officials concerned to prevent any delay in meeting the completion deadline for the Ring Road project. He also called for expediting all necessary matters in this regard and provided his assurance of the government’s support.

The CM further revealed that the construction work on Sheikhupura-Gujranwala Road would begin in the next few days.
