Lahore: The Provincial Development Working Party (PWDP) has approved three development schemes for the agriculture and regional planning sectors worth PKR 1,478.01 million, a news source reported.

Planning & Development (P&D) Board Chairman Hamed Yaqoob Sheikh chaired the 43rd meeting of PDWP in which it was informed that the uplift schemes were approved for the financial year 2019-20 (FY2019-20). All members of the P&D Board, concerned provincial secretaries, and other senior officials also attended the meeting.

Under the banner of regional planning, the approved schemes include ‘restructuring of Directorate General Monitoring & Evaluation’ in Punjab at the cost of PKR 686.105 million. Additionally, the Punjab capacity building program was approved at the cost of PKR 449.130 million. Also, in the agriculture sector, the government has announced setting up mechanized management of rice crop residue – at the cost of PKR 342.775 million.
