Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Sardar Usman Buzadar on Monday announced the Ramazan Package worth PKR 7 billion to ensure relief for people during the holy month, according to news sources.

While presiding over a cabinet meeting, the CM said 313 Ramazan bazaars will be established across the province with the government offering a subsidy of around PKR 3.5 billion for essential edibles. These bazaars will be made functional from the 25th of Shaaban. Fair-price shops will be established that will provide fruits and vegetables at rates of 2018.
CM Buzdar issues directives to provide maximum relief to the people and said that the scope of Sahulat Bazaars will be expanded. The formulation of Sahulat Bazaar Authority will offer permanent relief to consumer from artificial price hike.

In a related development, the Utility Stores Corporation (USC) has announced that the ‘Ramazan Relief Package’ will start from April 1 across the store chain in the country. The prices will be fixed and subsidy will be offered over 19 essential commodities up to 10-15%.
