Lahore: The Punjab government recently publicized a PKR 60 billion ‘Naya Lahore Development Package’ for the provincial capital, according to news sources. Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Usman Buzdar had provided its approval to said uplift scheme during a meeting of the governing body of the Lahore Development Authority (LDA).

According to the details revealed, the provincial executive intends to launch mega health and infrastructure projects under the Naya Lahore Development Package. These social initiatives will include the construction of:
- 4,000 apartments
- Flyover from Railway Station to Sheranwala Gate
- Underpass near Gulab Devi Hospital
- 10 underground water storage tanks
- Flyover near Karim Block Market
- State-of-the-art Bus Terminal near Thokar Niaz Baig
- 1000-bed hospital on Ferozepur Road
- Flyover at Shahkam Chowk

According to reports, the hospital on Ferozepur Road will be constructed near the Arfa Karim Information Technology Park at a cost of PKR 7 billion. Further, CM Buzdar stated that 10 underground water tanks will be constructed in the city to ensure timely drainage of rainwater.
