Lahore: In order to boost the country’s position on the ease-of-doing index, the government of Punjab has decided to allow registration of property without the requirement of PT-1 – a news source reported on March 2. The process for issuance of stamp paper will also be automated.

According to details, the members of the public will be able to obtain stamp papers from e-khidmet centres within a few days. The government is also looking to make appropriate amendments in laws in order to improve the process of registration. As a result, Pakistan’s position on ease-of-doing-business is expected to improve by 3 points.

The government will also work to improve the digitization of property registration, while the mechanism for geographic information system will also be improved. In addition, the jurisdiction of e-khidmet centres will also be expanded so that they could provide further facilities to the public.
