Quetta: The Balochistan government on Monday reopened public transport in the province under the SOPs notified by the provincial executive, a news source reported. Earlier, the provincial government had allowed a conditional resumption of public transport facilities after three months of its lockdown imposition.

The Balochistan government has issued several SOPs for the transport sector to resume services in the province under which:
- Passengers are to maintain a gap of one seat
- Only three people will travel at a time on taxis
Additionally, the provincial government has issued an 18-point SOP to restore public transport services across Balochistan. The public transport in the province had remained halted for a long time due to lockdown restrictions imposed in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Earlier, the Balochistan government had also announced its decision to extend the coronavirus lockdown in the province until June 16. Meanwhile, the federal government recently identified more than 100,000 COVID-19 patients.
