Islamabad – The capital city has 175 big and small public parks and playgrounds. The CDA (Capital Development Authority) has failed to upkeep most of the parks in Islamabad.
Fatima Jinnah Park, one of the largest parks in Pakistan, is in deplorable condition because of the apathy of CDA officials. “Public parks in most of the areas including G6, G7, G8, F6 and F7 are in poor condition with broken benches, lights, swings and jogging tracks”, said a resident of G8/2.
Some of the parks are also thronged by junkies, which makes it difficult for the families to enjoy free time in those parks.
