Mianwali: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan told landowners who hold four acres located in front of Namal University to sell their land to the university immediately. Otherwise, it would be acquired under Section 4 of the Land Acquisition Act.
According to a news source, the chairman made the announcement during the 3rd convocation of Namal University on December 20, reiterating that the completion of Knowledge City and Namal University was his passion, and politics his mission.
He said the four acres were not even being utilised, which made retaining them even more unreasonable.
Imran Khan had previously asked PTI MNA Amjad Khan to convince the owners to sell but they demanded too high a price, the news source stated.
Malik Ghous, a Sillo clan elder, said members from his biradri had generously donated land to Khan for the construction of Namal University but because they had some issues with his attitude, they were now reluctant to give more land away at a minimal price.
Imran Khan bestowed 68 degrees on students at the convocation and urged them to work hard and use their talent to benefit the country.
