Islamabad: The Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) on Monday announced that it would undertake multiple tourism initiatives delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic situation, a news source reported.

A senior PTDC officer revealed that the ‘Brand Pakistan’ initiative would include identity development, interactive e-portal, and musical score creation. He added that the e-portal facility would give users access to Pakistan’s tourism sites via virtual galleries, documentaries, and videos, along with other services.
The official revealed that a National Tourism Strategy (2020-2030) was in its final stages. He said that this strategy comprised of four key areas – good governance, jobs creation, growth, and tourism demand and supply. He added that Pakistan was preparing to host the World Tourism Forum in 2021.

The PTDC official also highlighted the various tourism initiatives taken by the incumbent government. He added that these included easing the visa process, forming the National Tourism Coordination Board (NTCB), restructuring of PTDC, and establishment of the Tourism Endowment Fund.
