Islamabad: Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) will contact multinational companies for joint ventures, according to a news report. The purpose is the establishment and upgradation of PTDC’s motels and other living spaces.
According to a PTDC official, the interested parties have been asked to get the work on beautification of PTDC motels done on a sponsorship basis. They have been invited to work on Build Operate Transfer (BOT) basis, and offers have been made from Pakistan and abroad. He further added that PTDC has approached the Sindh and Punjab governments to acquire land near Sadho Ball on lease. It will be used to promote tourism in the area of Gorakh hill station. PTDC also plans to develop tourist spots near Sukkur on its own land.
Managing Director PTDC Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor also met Chief Secretary, Secretary Information, Technology and Tourism Department Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Chief Minister Gilgit Baltistan Hafiz Hafeezur Rehman to acquire land for fabricated resorts. Gilgit Baltistan government has agreed to provide land near Shigar, among other tourist spots.
