Reportedly, PTA made the said announcement on its official Twitter. The authority said that there were fewer than 2 million subscribers in 2012, but after the launch of 3G services, the number spiked to 16 million and now stands at the figure of 100 million.
Moreover, the authority has also claimed that 87% of the national population has now access to internet/broadband connections at one of the lowest prices in the region. It also claimed that the broadband services are being provided over 3G/4G networks with 17.7 Mbps average download speed and 11.3 Mbps average upload speed – which is higher when compared with other regional countries.
