Lahore: Pakistan State Oil (PSO) and Faisalabad’s industrial community recently made a substantial to the government’s COVID-19 relief fund, according to a news report.
To this effect, PSO donated PKR 71 million for coronavirus relief activities across the country; in a bid to support the underprivileged segments of society the pandemic has direly affected.

Out of this total amount, PSO gave PKR 50 million to the Prime Minister’s Corona Relief Fund. Therefore, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer PSO Syed Muhammad Taha and Chairman Board of Management Zafar Islam Usmani visited Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan’s office to present the cheque.
Then, they allocated the remaining PKR 21 million to hospitals for the procurement of protective and medical equipment, the distribution of ration bags across the country, and the free supply of fuel to ambulances. CEO and MD Syed Muhammad Taha stated that PSO was committed to supporting the authorities in tackling the COVID-19 pandemic.

Meanwhile, Faisalabad’s industrial community donated PKR 4 million to the Punjab Chief Minister’s (CM) Fund for Corona Control. Mian Kashif Ashfaq, Chairman Faisalabad Industrial Estate Development and Management Company (FIEDMC), met CM Usman Buzdar for this purpose. There, he presented a cheque of PKR 4 million on behalf of Faisalabad’s industrialists. At the same occasion, he also presented a donation on behalf of two Chinese companies; Henan DR and Time Ceramics. To clarify, this donation included surgical and N95 masks, personal protective equipment (PPE), and disinfectants worth PKR 3.5 million.
