Gujrat: The Punjab Small Industries Corporation (PSIC) has taken over possession of 200 acres of land meant for Phase II of the Gujarat Small Industries Project, news sources reported. The land has been purchased from locals for a sum of PKR 1.32 billion.

Reportedly, the ministry of finance has released PKR 280 million to the district administration. Moreover, the possession was taken by the Gujarat Assistant Commissioner (AC) Khizar Hayat Bhatti and the local land revenue department officials on behalf of the PSIC. Following the possession of land, the local government, in coordination with the PSIC, will initiate civic work, including constructing boundary walls, sewerage lines, and other civil work.

Once completed, the project will be home to hundreds of small-scale industries, including electric fan manufacturers and metalworking. It is important to mention that the land was approved for PSIC in 2019, but the possession was delayed due to administrative reasons.
