Khan highlighted that Pakistan’s IT exports are on track to reach approximately $3.6 billion this year, a milestone achieved through the Special Investment Facilitation Council’s (SIFC) focused efforts and the continuous support of the Ministry of IT & Telecom, Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), and other key stakeholders. However, he warned that maintaining this momentum requires immediate and bold government intervention.
“A comprehensive IT package is crucial to unlocking Pakistan’s full tech potential,” Khan stated. He emphasized the need for policies that facilitate ease of doing business, reduce tax burdens, provide targeted funding for skill development, and leverage the incentives available through the Special Technology Zones Authority (STZA). He also advocated for a strong international branding campaign to enhance Pakistan’s global presence in the IT sector.

With the national budget approaching, Khan described this as a defining moment for the government to demonstrate its commitment to a sector that has the potential to create high-value jobs, attract foreign investment, and significantly boost exports.
“With the right policies and support, Pakistan’s IT exports could easily surpass $5 billion in the near future,” he added. “However, achieving this will require decisive action and a long-term strategy from the government.”
Industry experts and stakeholders have echoed Khan’s call, emphasizing that a well-structured IT package could position Pakistan as a leading global player in technology and digital services.
