Lahore: The Punjab Safe City Authority (PSCA) is trying to make it convenient for citizens to pay their e-challans online – a news source reported.
The authority is also working on designing a smartphone app with the State Bank of Pakistan and the Punjab government. The app will allow citizens to pay e-challan through debit cards, 1-link, Easypaisa, Jazz Cash and other such services. This stated by PSCA Chief Operating Officer Akbar Nasir speaking to media.
He added that PSCA sent 1,700,944 e-challans during its first financial year and PKR 168 million were submitted to the national exchequer as e-challan fine for traffic violations. He also mentioned that the effective and efficient traffic management system and the e-challan system has helped reduce fatal traffic accidents by 70% during the same time.
