Multan: The Punjab government has made notifications for the creation of a separate public service commission (PSC) for South Punjab – a news source reported.

Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar made the announcement. Previously, various delegations from South Punjab called on the chief minister, and informed him regarding the local situation.
CM Buzdar said that a sub-secretariat is being established in the region. An additional chief secretary, additional IG, and secretaries of different departments will be appointed for the new establishment.

Buzdar said that several health and education projects will also be launched in South Punjab. He added that the government accords top priority to the two sectors.
The chief minister also announced the establishment of industrial zones in Dera Ghazi Khan and Taunsa. Furthermore, he said that the Multan-Mianwali Road network will be transformed into a dual-carriage highway.

As many as 63 new drinking water projects will be launched in Taunsa. The government has also sanctioned PKR 500 million for sewerage projects in the city.
