Karachi: The provincial municipalities’ minister and Managing Director Karachi Water and Sanitation Board took notice of the sale of water through heavy tankers on the roads and avenues of Karachi, a news source reported. Hydrant Cell Chief Engineer has been asked to submit a report on the matter.
According to sources, the Supreme Court has allowed for 6 water hydrants around the city, so that the people not being supplied through water lines can get water from there at discounted prices but the system has not been working properly. The administration had set a limit of 5,000 gallon tankers for the private entities but water is being supplied privately to industries and being sold in 15,000 gallon tankers.
