Islamabad: Provincial governments have expressed reservations over a draft prepared by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) in its bid to facilitate the creation of a single portal system for filing tax returns and registration – a news source reported.
As per officials, the revenue authorities of the four provinces have decided to make amendments to the said document, and forward it to the taxation authority for consideration. According to a senior official of the Punjab Revenue Authority, the FBR had previously sought the signatures of these authorities on its document.

The federal institution believes that the portal will not only facilitate the IMF in its review of the country’s economic performance for the first quarter of FY2019-20, but would also improve the government’s ease of doing business initiatives – as well as boost the country’s growth ranking.
