Islamabad: To help reduce Pakistan’s housing shortage, the World Bank has recommended that people be provided easy loans, according to a news report. In Pakistan, an average of 3.5 people live in a room, whereas the average number in the developing world is 1.1 person per room.
Home loans in Pakistan are not as popular as compared to the rest of the region. Between 2008 and 2015, the ratio of loans was low, however, during 2017, home loans increased by PKR 18 billion to reach a total volume of PKR 80 billion.
