Karachi: Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori and New York State Assembly Deputy Speaker Phil Ramos have been in talks to come up with a proposal that will officially declare Sindh and New York as ‘Sister States’, a news source reported on May 2. The proposal will create a robust framework for collaboration and partnership between the two states, promoting cooperation between universities, research institutes, and hospitals.

A meeting was held to discuss the progress made on the proposal so far. It is expected that a delegation of the New York State Assembly will visit Sindh in the near future to explore the possibilities for formalising the sister-state relationship. The news source mentioned that after the visit is completed, a resolution will be submitted in both assemblies to officially declare Sindh and New York sister states.
