CM Rehman stated that the success of this project was only possible if the NHA and the federal government released funds for this purpose. He added that if there was an unavailability of capital, the provincial government would then install grills and construct footpaths along the highway on their own; for the convenience of pedestrians.

In addition, the traffic police has been ordered to set a speed limit for KKH and monitor it closely henceforth.
The decision to facilitate pedestrians was made after a tragic road accident on KKH resulted in the death of a passerby on foot. As part of the proceedings, the chief minister also took some time out to visit the bereaved family of the victim and offer his condolences.
