As per the details, DC Mohammad Hamza Shafqaat inaugurated the PVC to start property verification in a bid to counter real estate fraud in the city. A portal was also created that contained records of housing societies and land of the capital administration and CDA. Additionally, the DC requested everyone to use the CityApp, which was also launched by the administration.
Moreover, DC Shafqaat disclosed that people residing in other parts of the country and overseas Pakistanis were made victims of land fraud in the capital city by substandard housing projects. He went on to say that such housing societies are either declared illegal or did not come under the jurisdiction of the city. Additionally, the DC stated that these housing societies have site offices outside Islamabad to avoid legal consequences. Many owners claim their housing societies are in the city to attract buyers, when in fact, they are located outside the city.

Reportedly, the district administration launched PVC to ensure transparency in the real estate industry. Through this initiative, people can invest in housing schemes and real estate projects that are verified and declared legal by the DC office and law. Sharing details about the centre, it was mentioned that the verification centre will enable the purchaser to check the legal status of the unit before closing a deal. A form must be filled by the customer to check the legal status of the property and within 24 hours, the status will be communicated. The verification of the status from the centre is free of cost. Once the legal status is shared, the customers can buy it after a week. This service can also be availed by Pakistanis residing overseas.
