Rawalpindi: The Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department has announced its decision to conduct property surveys across Punjab with the aid of high-tech cameras and other modern technological implements, a news source reported. As per officials, the department is expected to upload the images of the properties it plans to survey; in addition to assigning them with unique tax numbers in its online system.

The E&T teams will use latest technology and Geographic Information System (GIS) to conduct the survey. Following the initiative’s completion, the images will be uploaded to the official website of the Excise Department. These images will help Excise Circle Officers get access to details on all properties via their mobile phones.

According to reports, during the recently held Director’s Conference, the Excise Director General issued the orders to complete the camera survey within a time frame of one month. Once the survey is completed and uploaded as per the plan on the website, property owners will be able to get details on the due property tax online. This initiative is also expected to fix issues regarding corrupt practices reported in the property taxation system.
