Lahore: The Excise and Taxation (E&T) Department director general has announced the department’s decision to launch a property tax survey in 2020, according to a news source. As per officials, the authorities concerned have yet to conduct assessments owing financial constraints.
As per details, the Excise Department has decided to conduct property tax survey for the year 2020 in a bid to increase property tax revenue collections and to identify new constructions carried out under Section 9.

According to the officials, the department has yet to print survey registers for this fiscal year. Further, it has requested the Punjab government to release PKR 5 million for bearing the cost to print survey registers. For conducting property survey in Lahore alone, the department requires 10,000 survey registers.

If Property Survey 2020 is not conducted on time, the department might won’t be able to meet its tax target for the current fiscal year.
