Peshawar: The traders operating in Karkhano Market have agreed to clear their pending property tax dues, reported a news source. For this purpose, talks were held between officials of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department (ETNCD) and traders on Monday.

The traders assured the excise department of clearing their dues immediately. According to official stats, Karkhano Market traders have to clear property tax dues amounting to PKR 250 million – pending for the last 16 years.

To help traders pay off their due taxes, the excise department will provide the cooperation needed, said ETNCD Secretary Riaz Mehsud. He also assured the traders of making the process easy. Mehsud stated that his office doors were open to assist the Karkhano Market traders concerned.
According ETNCD officials, the department has successfully recovered PKR 25 million from the traders – during a crackdown earlier this month.
