Lahore: The Excise and Taxation Department will issue property tax notices with a 10% increase in property tax to owners of houses, shops, and other types of property, according to a news source.
Reportedly, arrangements have been made to collect the specified tax from property owners throughout Punjab. Computerised slips will be sent to all property owners, eliminating any chances of changes to the amount of property tax liable and thus increasing transparency.
In the event that a property owner fails to pay tax on their property, tenants and shopkeepers in rented residential and commercial property will be required to pay their rent to the tax officer until the required amount of tax is paid off, said the news source.
