Lahore: In property registration, Lahore has improved its world ranking by going up to the 161st rank, up from the 170th position, a news source reported. This was revealed to media by a representative of Punjab Land Record Authority. On quality of land administration index too, Lahore’s points improved from 10.5 to 19.
A World Bank report revealed that property registration reforms in Lahore have resulted in significant improvements. Now the process of property registration has improved which has ensured that the work previously done in 56 days is now completed in 26 days.
Pakistan’s (Lahore) position has also improved on the District to Frontier (DTF) Scale where there has been an improvement of 11 points from 55 to 66 points. This improvement has happened because of transparency and availability of online records which signifies quality of land administration.
The representative said that Punjab Land Record Authority is determined to bring land record administration in line with international standards, and soon the reforms will be expanded to other cities.
