Rawalpindi: The Excise and Taxation (E&T) Department has notified over 300 property agents in the city to submit their professional taxes – a news source reported.

The department has tasked Excise and Taxation Officer (ETO) Muhammad Sameer with recovering the dues within three months’ timeframe.
Notices to this effect were issued recently to the property agents concerned on the directives of the Secretary E&T. Moreover, the department has decided to seal the offices of those who refuse to comply.
The department managed to collect professional taxes worth PKR 40.3 million from various individuals during the first eight months of the ongoing fiscal year (FY2018-19.)

In a similar measure, the E&T officials have decided to freeze the accounts of property tax defaulters in a bid to recover their dues. For this purpose, a summary was recently forwarded to the Secretary E&T for approval.
