Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Saturday (March 26) visited Kamalia in district Toba Tek Singh to launch several development projects including the construction work on Mal Fatyana Bridge at River Ravi, according to news sources.

During the one day visit to Kamalia, PM Khan launched different projects and addressed a public gathering. As per the details, the construction of the Mal Fatyana bridge will facilitate people to travel easily and transport agricultural commodities to the mills.
Moreover, the PM laid the foundation stone for Kamalia University. According to details, the university will be built at the cost of PKR 2.5 billion in two phases. The university spans over 45 acres of land that will provide international standard education to the students. It was disclosed that better education will enable the students to get better jobs and play their role in national development.
Reportedly, the federal and provincial ministers called Chief Minister (CM) Usman Buzdar on Saturday (March 26). CM Buzdar informed that the government has launched PKR 22 million worth of uplift projects for Toba Tek Singh. It was notified that PKR 1.5 billion will be spent for 407 ongoing projects under Annual Development Programme (ADP) and other projects in the district.

Furthermore, PKR 1.3 billion will be spent on 171 projects for community development. It was revealed that 474 sustainable development projects will be completed at the total cost of PKR 890 million. Also, PKR 500 million will be utilised for the expansion and construction of roads.
