Karachi: Sindh Minister for Human Settlements Ghulam Murtaza Baloch has announced that the rural areas in the suburbs of Karachi will be provided electricity on a priority basis, a news source reported. The electricity connections will be given under various phases.

The provincial minister shared this information while speaking to members of various delegations in his office on Wednesday (September 4). He said that the Sindh Government is determined to provide better civic amenities to the residents of rural areas.

In the first phase of this project, the provincial government will spend PKR 20.23 million to supply electricity to the residents of Soomer Chutta Goth Malir, Haji Ali Ahmed Baloch Goth Deb Dasana Channo, Abdullah Rao Goth Malir, and Dost Muhammad Khaskheli Goth Deh Dozan.

Minister Baloch also instructed K-Electric to ensure uninterrupted supply of electricity to Karachi, and to speed up the process to provide electricity to the above mentioned villages. He mentioned that the directives to supply electricity to the villages in surrounding areas of Karachi came directly from Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
